| Mi familia at the shelter. |
This blog is a place for me to track my incredible journey and experiences in Cusco, Peru starting in March 2018. What started out as a place where some young friend's of mine studied Spanish one summer has now become a full-fledged operation to help support young mom's and their kids who are fighting their way out of domestic violence situations. After me and many of my friends experienced how beautiful these people were and how good of an investment they are, we got a US-based grass-roots non-profit involved. We now have a program called Nuevo Camino (New Path) that is focused on supporting these moms after they leave a short-term shelter there in Cusco.
For me, this remains a very personal journey and a personal commitment to doing whatever it takes to help these families who are now MY FAMILY. The family is growing every day, and it is a great joy in my life to have the opportunity to know and support them.
